portal.lockText = trueOrFalse;

The lockText property returns or sets whether the user can edit the text within a specified portal. It corresponds to the Lock Text switch in the Portal Info dialog box. The default value is false (meaning the portal is unlocked).

When a portal is locked, it can receive the system messages touchDown and touchUp when the user taps it.
